Rendering

cryengine ):

I had a few attempts at using cry engine but unfortunately my model wouldn't load into it i then talked to olly and he said to try and import it in pieces which i did try for about an hour and it kept crashing and saying "not responding", When i did get the model into cryengine i couldnt find it anywhere and i looked under View -> Open View Pane -> Select Objects   and my object wasnt there ): i did manage to get the guy to go swimming though so i guess thats better than nothing!

FINAL IMAGES

The cracks in these images show the impact in my meeting place  and the people represent the body. The body is also represented by the building as the cracks in the walls are created by the impact showing my meeting as 'body meets impact'. I decided to add a boxing gym on the bottom level because boxing is a natural contact sport creating a more obvious impact between two people physically. The gymnastics part to my design also has an impact which is less about two people impacting each other but more about one person impacting themselves with the equipment.

meeting place ideas

Combining a gymnastics gym with a boxing gym, I did this because they both have some sort of body impact being that it is fighting  other people and getting hit by others or  jumping from one bar to another or jumping off something or injuring yourself during a trick etc.

Impact images/ examples/inspiration

i chose to use these slow motion punch images because it shows different stages of impact from first contact to the end, i chose the images in the middle because they show the impact thats happening during the action.

Journey/experience map

A way of showing/ explaining the experience of going through this gym that i used was by explaining it in text and showing it through illustration and obvious arrows.

This week my idea is (2)

This week my idea is a Gymnastics gym.I decided on this idea because of two reasons, the first is that i like gymnastics and i really enjoyed it as a kid and the second because i told my cousin about it and she said she wouldn't talk to me if i didn't do it... I searched up normal gym equipment on google and made a list in my mind map to add into my drawings later. Choosing the right colours and textures to go with what i remember from when i was younger was a struggle to i completely changed my view on what i saw my boat sheds looking like and made most of the equipment red, blue, a yellow/orange colour or wood. Normally the floor is also covered in matts but adding more matts would distract the person looking at the new drawing and they wouldn't notice the more important matts that are part of the equipment.

My drawings for my 2nd idea after I've added to them on photoshop.

These two section drawings are from both ends of the boat shed looking at the opposite walls.

COOL BOOK !!!!!

We were asked to go to the library and get a 'cool book' out. I chose this book because of the main colour and how it attracts my eye personally also because the strips of collage placed over the original photograph are lighter and more colourful than the photograph behind.

Gymnastics mind map

Before i started drawing up what i thought my boat sheds would look like i wrote down a few things that i think of when i think about gymnastics, not just the equipment but the physical skills needed for the tricks.
